Brindenford's Temple of All Gods

The Temple of All Gods in Brindenford

Sights and Sounds: Located right on the river, the Temple of All Gods is most often filled with farmers, laborers, fishermen, loggers, and other townsfolk who come simply say a quick, silent prayer to one of the gods here (or all of them) before going about their business.

The temple is a very simple structure, open to the elements on the river's side. The interior is empty, almost cavernous, with a long, low fountain of clever design that circulates the water in a slow circle around a brass brazier always filled with burning coals. This fountain stands before a huge relief carving of all eight of the greater gods worshipped here, commanding one entire interior wall of the structure. The temple has no other sanctuaries. The priests live elsewhere. There are a couple of small store-rooms where priestly robes, incense, and a few simple dressings for the altar are kept. There are two small side rooms where meetings of the faithful can occur; these are often used when one of the faithful need to consult a priest in private.

The temple's altar is outside the building itself, built half in the water at the river's edge. It is a massive half-circular stone platform, surrounded by a low wall with the names of all eight deities chiseled upon it.

The Priests: Mother Linna (female human cleric6) is the high priestess of the temple, representing Mikol, but also the entire pantheon. Her dark features and her sparkling green eyes make her beautiful, despite the fact that she is in her early 50s. Other priests include the very old Brother Hurth (male dwarf cleric5) who represents Kehret, Brother Werrimar (male human cleric4) who represents Safreth, Sister Viana (female elf cleric3) and Brother Kallin (male elf cleric3), representing Diorel and Sithlar, and Brother Mils (male human cleric1/rogue4), representing Aragh. When needed, Sister Seren from the Temple of Elanora comes here for joint services. Centarius is represented by Brother Edward (male human cleric 2).

The priests only come to the temple to perform specific rituals. They very rarely work together--the significant rites of each deity are usually performed separately, and any time the entire pantheon needs repr
Symbol of Mallockesentation, Mother Linna does so. In fact, it's whispered among those that care that for the most part, the various priests don't actually get along. Of them all, Brother Mils and Sister Viana make the fewest appearances. No one actually even knows where Brother Mils lives, though some assume he dwells in the graveyard. Mils is Brindenford's graveyard and guides the souls of the dead. He also makes windchimes for guarding the dead, which can be commissioned here.

Much of the time, a visitor will find no representative of the gods here. Much of the worship of the Gods is private, however, consisting of prayers spoken by the faithful before undertaking an important task, seeking blessings and guidance. Many see the priests here as oracles, and ask them advice and questions about the future. Occasionally, they get the information they seek.
