NotesD&D Parties
Shadybrook Campaign (Current)
Glade Holly – Druid, reformed, age 31. (Half-elf) : Glade’s mother is a druid who is married to a weapon smith, who is allowed to make metal armor items for druids. He made Glade’s armor and weapons, for the most part. Glade is an only child and has an uncle who is a bard, which is where she gets her enthusiasm for their stories. Erik – Wizard, age (Half-elf). Erik dreams of being a powerful wizard so he can get away from his annoyingly demanding family. Conk – Cleric of ? (Half-elf) dropped out when his church recalled him for “more important duties”. Shadow – Thief, age 17 or so (Marchat…. cat guy). Wants to get rich and powerful so he looks more appealing to girl cats – who apparently like bling.
Henchmen: Aarngard – fighter (half-elf) wants to be a knight Chollaver – Thief (half-elf) wants to be rich. May be descended from the ancient Lords of Louden Castle.
Significant properties or events: ➢ Glade tries to civilize kobolds by teaching them to buy chickens from a farmer instead of attacking everyone. ➢ Erik is trying to reestablish his family’s business in Shadybrook ➢ Erik is building a house in Shadybrook ➢ They have the Firelord’s Lair in which they store things. ➢ They are known as heroic dragon slayers in Karr barony, but have killed the baron of Dene, even if it was somewhat unwanted. They had previously helped his daughter elope with Lady Elysa’s son. After slaying the Baron of Dene the PCs decamped for a while to avoid questioning. They went to Cedarknot to sell some loot. Shadow robbed a residence and nearly got caught by a trap. He did get some good loot. PCs heard about an old ruin in a nearby swamp that held a highwayman's lost loot, and went to investigate. They recovered some nice jewels and a couple small magic items. Still wanting to sell some of the Baron's goods far away, and now wanting to do some real shopping, they decide to go to Marig. Once there, they have a minor run-in with a were-rat rogue and Shadow nearly contracts lycanthropy. They prevent a fire. Eventually, they're hired to track down a "wizard?" who tried to first buy and then steal a medallion from Marig's treasurer, Sir Something...(ask Tara).
Malmhus Campaign
Milihandra Errek Ulvirkirth – Ranger, Stoneblessed, age 29 (half-elf raised as dwarf) Mother: Melka Ulvirkirth Faher: Captain Oktal Errek Ulvirkirth Morthar – Fighter. (Dwarven soldier of the Silver Troop Special Unit 3) Gil Maletrude – Cleric of Elka (healing family). Sister to Melka, aunt to Milihandra. Her career stultified back home. Sharon Garret Greenbottle – Rogue. A hobbit from outside of town, who wanted to go adventuring. He was assigned to the Silver Troop Special Unit 3 by Capt. Ulvirkirth. Roy Oswin – Wizard. Human mage, who arrived in town to repay his scholarship to the wizard school in Haroth. He is assigned with them. Jeff Avigdor – Bard who is looking for his fiancée and her family.Billy
Henchmen: Larry Darryl Heon – An evil wizard that some party members wanted to kill.
Significant properties or events: This party is from Harothar, which is north of Greenvale. Despite interesting adventures, the campaign was abruptly dropped due to player shifts. The ongoing goal of the PCs was to find out what or who was stirring the evil orc/hobgoblin/giant tribes of the north and leading them to attack Harothar again. Many discoveries about ancient evil were slowly being made and put together into a picture of grave danger.
Rostochi CampaignThe kingdom of Miran lies far to the south of Greenvale. Magic is forbidden on pain of death, and the realm is ruled by a High Priest of Centarius and his secret-police minions.
Maxima Julia Valendia of Rostochi, Sorceress – age 19 Maxima is the money backer of the group with natural ties to outlawed magic through her mother, who is exiled to a family estate outside of the city. Her brother has also inherited magical powers. Descendant from 2nd Empire’s last prince of Tremon Arivia Mother: Julia Arivia Valendia, Sorceress (Not sure on MI) Father: Maximus Valendia, Slave merchant Brother: Caius Maximus Valendia, Sorcerer – age 15
Lygeia, Fighter – age 20 (I think) Lygeia was raised as slave in Maxima’s household and was her playmate. Having gained her freedom, she now works as Maxima’s bodyguard at Maximus Valendia’s behest. Her goal is to win freedom for her family and other slaves.
Pliny Woodthrush, Druid, -- age 25ish (Halfling) Pliny is a friend of Lygeia and is called upon to help protect Maxima with his knowledge of the woodlands. He can legally cast magic. Oddly enough, he’s rather a pyromaniac. (Druidic magic is frowned on, but is essentially “slave religion” and thus tolerated. However, powerful druids often find themselves either outlawed or victims of assassination attempts.)
Menfalus (Fal), -- age (Elf) Fal is the son of a merchant who was negotiating with Maxiumus Valendia. Maxima is charged with entertaining him. She takes him on an expedition into the swamps, where she is mapping 2nd Empire ruins. He does not go on any further journeys. Swamps are too icky for this forester.
Heironymus (Harry), Thief – age 18 or 19? Harry joins the party after Fal runs off back to the city. Harry is out at the tavern in Whistlewater. He is perhaps in trouble with the Thieve’s Guild or is related to someone high up in the guild. (His father was high in the guild, but died mysteriously and Harry fled to avoid the same fate. Harry’s ultimate goal is to avenge his father’s death).
Henchmen: Puer, Slave boy, age 10 years Rufus, age 15 – died in combat late in campaign but was resurrected Loric – gladiator bought to serve party after Puer and Rufus ‘retire’, to be freed after 1 year Artos – gladiator bought to serve party after Puer and Rufus ‘retire’, to be freed after 1 year
Significant properties or events:
➢ Valendia House – in the city of Rostochi ➢ Bone Manor – Woodlands north of the Cypress Swamp: This house is preserved by magic, and freemen live on the grounds to care for it. “Officially,” they are Maxima’s slaves. (Bone manor lies outside the limits of Miran, but near enough that some subterfuge is necessary). ➢ City of Colors – Everglades: Ancient ruins partially explored by party ➢ Ruins in the Cypress Swamp near the coast where the party used the goat bomb to kill a giant gator ➢ Pliny exploded part of the swamp trying to kill another (most definitely evil) druid. Hmm…. ➢ Campaign ends with Julia Valendia arrested for using magic. Her husband, children, and daughter’s companions rescue her and flee to Mistland. ➢ (Note: the party was in the process of starting a major slave rebellion when they were diverted by the arrest of Julia Valendia. It is possible that this rebellion continued without them; Miran may undergo some large upheavals in the next few years. Or not…)
Verdell Campgain
Aristele Liadon – Ranger, age 130 (Elf) Character for a supposed occasional campaign for David and Jim. Amrain – Rogue Jeff Ulfgar – Fighter David Pendarion – Sorcerer Jim Firdi – Rogue, (Halfling) Jeff
Significant properties or events: ➢ Story for a supposed occasional campaign for David and Jim. ➢ David is stuck on that name… ➢ These characters are member of an Aventurer’s guild and given assignments by a wizard, I believe. ➢ I don’t know why Jeff changes characters in the second game. It might be he initial rule. I believe the “Al” in my notes must be Aristele. ➢ This is the game where the dwarf, the fighter, wouldn’t go forward and engage the enemy, and the idiot wore a dress in combat. Except I think these things happened in a tomb or something.
(This was a more casual pick-up game meant to be played on holidays or off-and-on. Scheduling conflicts, Jim’s new job and other factors prevented it from lasting more than a couple of sessions).
Justine’s Group(2nd edition game) Justine Ashe – Fighter, age 17 Justine was born in Greenvale, Old County and raised on a farm in Flat Rock county but wanted to be a knight. Injuries prevented that dream, but she went on to adventure. She was raised by father, a priest, and step-mother after her mother died when she was young and has an older full brother and 2 half-sisters. After her injury, her father sent her to live with and be trained by Elissa Evenstar, a semi-retired adventurer from Salt Marsh. Justine didn’t like it there because her father had sent her there to keep her out of the way back home. She wasn’t much into farming. She is very close to her step-mother. Shazel – Wizard Gil and Hedwig – Shazel’s familiar Omar – Thief (Dwarf) Bobby Pyfog – Cleric Sharon Chat – half-orc? [Ben?] short-lived Gax -- Lizard man [Ben?] also moderately short-lived Argent – Ranger or wizard? [Jeff?]: Dies in fight with half-orc assassin, later raised by Pyfog Henchmen: Xaod – Paladin : I’m not sure if he was an actual henchman. He’s in a lot of stuff and I have a stat sheet for him. I think this was the character Gil played in between retiring and then returning to playing Shazel, but I thought his name was Palindor. (Gil did play a paladin named Palindor. I’m not sure where Xaod came into the story – since there are not supposed to be any paladins in my campaigns!). Maybe Xaod was Palindor’s henchman?) Vistern – Fighter: Elven woman who joins party after being freed. Short term NPC. Elmo – Cleric? : I think Elmo might be Omar’s henchman. Yes. I don’t think he was a cleric, though.
Significant properties or events: I am missing the first 8 pages of my notes, which is very significant, since these all contained 6 columns of tiny writing. (The whereabouts of these pages are a mystery to me. I think you gave them to me, but I cannot find them in my stuff. Sorry!) ➢ I’m not at all sure who Elmo is. ➢ Justin’s horse is possibly named Vor or might be a vor… (Vor are large six-legged horselike mounts that are usually used as work-horses but make good war-mounts with extensive training.) ➢ Party has a wagon. (A gypsy caravan that seems much bigger inside than out!) ➢ They seem to have fought a lot of elementals and were in a dungeon in which there was a dial that determined what creature appeared. Several bad guys have various skin colors, such as red and blue. There was an Azur. ➢ Bad guys are trying to raise an evil god. ➢ Pyfog has a staff that changes into a huge snake. ➢ Justine approaches a purple curtained in a huge altar chamber and gets attacked by said curtain. She’s nearly killed in one hit. ➢ Justine has some way to wish herself across the room. ➢ The final battle involves a Celestial, who thanks them for their help. ➢ Gax isn’t mentioned on pg 13, but pg 12 does not record his death…
M’Nea Group
M’Nea Touchstone – Fighter, age 20 Simdol Greatoak – Dave Celmando – Deceased Jeff OTHAR – Retired Bobby Iron Shaper – Monk?, Deceased Ben Khari – Retired Anita Sir Arda – Jeff Thanos – Ben Thistle Furryfoot – hobbit Anita Thurgrum – “Locksmith” Bobby Fath – Bard? Billy
Henchmen: Octavian – Teamster? : Originally a teamster or soldier apprentice, he is totally gaga over M’Nea and followers her on adventures, eventually settling with her on the party’s island. I can’t remember if he really had a good lineage, despite how they encountered him. (He came from Miran – his name gives that away. Either an escaped slave or fled from their evil priestly secret police.)
Significant properties or events:
➢ I’m not sure where notes on this campaign might be… ➢ M’Nea was known for being extremely beautiful. I’m not sure how high her charisma score became, but it was more than the 17 listed on the sheet. She may have gotten up into the early 20s, which might be in the missing notes. ➢ Khary had leather catsuits made for her and M’Nea. Khari was trying to teach M’Nea how to be slutty, (as I recall Khary used her sexuality for her own benefit, and thought M’Nea was naïve for failing to do so) or something to that effect. One suit was red and the other black. ➢ The party ended up with an island that could travel. They parked it off the coast of Greenvale and declared it a country. M’Nea was volunteered to be it’s queen or whatever term they used. ➢ I’m thinking Ocatavian’s goal was to marry M’Nea some day. I remember him getting really jealous of other guys. M’Nea was thought he was much younger than he was. (Because of my misunderstanding of his age early on.) I think M’Nea thought he was 15, but he was really 17 or 18. ➢ M’Nea had an elven horse named Thingol (Gray Cloak) ➢ I think this party was the one with the house and the connections to Prince Starbow. (M’Nea’s group was the one that helped overthrow Prince Telmon who failed his leadership test and was not a good ruler. They went to Harothar and found Starbow and convinced him he was needed in Greenvale. Then they helped expose Duke Rakot as an evil force behind Prince Telmon).
➢ They may have been the group that nuked the harbor. (I don’t think so. I think that was the party before this one, when Jeff played a wizard named Helcar. Or it is possible that Helcar replaced Sir Arda in this campaign).
Fallon K’Llane
Fallon K’Llane – Fighter/Myrmidion
Significant properties or events: I don’t remember anything from this campaign except that it was extremely short-lived and Fallon had a Shimmering Sash. She was from another continent, equal to something like ancient Egypt … possibly. Needless to say, I can’t find these notes. It is probably the first full time character I played with you guys.
Random mini-campaigns
Salt Marsh one-shot for lack of a better name
Coo – human rogue pre-generated for a one-time game set in Salt Marsh that included: Larry – (Jeff) Hazmat – (Gil) I think he may have been a wizard Kigoria – (Alicia) Stanley – (Robert) Oy – (Roy) A Halfling?
Significant properties or events: I believe this was a story in which the characters could inherit a property and they end up investigating a murder.
Valdosta one-shot for lack of better name
Valdosta Certa – Ranger, age 18. Character for a one-shot game for David and Jim. Ulfgar – Fighter, dwarf (David.) Aramil – Cleric, elf (Jim) Flora – Thief, hobbit (Gillian) Blandavon (Blondie) – Fighter (NPC), killed by goblins when knocked out by color spray friendly. Too bad. He was a real hunk with a 17 charisma. Dirk – Wizard (NPC)
Significant properties or events: I don’t know. The notes just talk about dire rats and goblins… (This was Jeff’s short-lived game in which I actually got to play. We were hunting for stolen merchant goods in mines outside a very dreary village. My hobbit rogue was a very naughty girl…)
Pixie One-shot
Shimmer – Pixie, for a one-shot game for girls’ night Shring – Pixie Alicia, I believe Skree -- Pixie Sharon (I can’t remember the other names and who all was there) Sparkle_ -- Pixie Phyllis
Significant properties or events: This story was great fun. The pixies have to save their wizard friend (after being informed by the big scary cat that he was in trouble) by finding his witch girlfriend, whom they dislike. They fight off a crow, get drunk, get really scared by a barking dog and save the day!
