County Kanass

This is a small, prosperous agricultural county. Emerton is the county seat, with a population of around 3,000. It is a commercial town on the main east-west road from Castleton to Jerint. Count Elledar rules fairly and honestly. Elledar's castle is located a few miles outside Emerton. The other major town in Kanass is Marble Falls, at the northernmost navigable point on the South Dorian River. It is also a stone-quarry and agricultural center. Pop 7,000. Total population is 360,000. 


Keep of St. Justin of Dragon’sIsle of Eollana:

Located just north of Marble Falls on the Dorian River, this keep of Knights has only been in existence about 10 years. They number less than 20, half of whom are young boys (and one girl) in training. The rest consist of Knights of L15, L10, L8, L6 (3 of them) and L1(4 of them). There are also a couple of dozen servants who help maintain the castle and grounds. There are finally 10 crack archers and 20 infantrymen loyal to the knights who dwell here to defend the castle if need be. Last but not least, while the group has no dragon, they do have a group of 5 hippogriffs, which each of the knights can ride, and which the trainees are being taught to handle.

The Keep was an old and abandoned castle structure from 2nd empire days. They have rebuilt the main keep, a walled court, a gate-tower, and a number of outbuildings. It is run much like a manor house and estate, but a certain martial order is maintained. Entering and leaving the gates requires either permission or a statement of purpose. Strangers requesting the right to train here will be questioned closely, tested for their skills and their motivations before being accepted. All acceptable trainees must be followers of Elanora, and will be urged to become knights if they have the requisite statistics.
