Flatrock County

The county seat is Jerint, and the count is Leault, one of the younger and more energetic leaders of Greenvale. Total population is 316,000.

The city of Jerint is located on the major north south highroad of Old Greenvale; this mountain-valley town has many craftsmen and artisans. It has a famous school of music. Leault's county is mountainous, difficult to farm despite its size, but well-known for the excellent quality hardwoods harvested there. Pop 6,000.

Count Leault is a human Fighter 4/Noble 7. He is unmarried. His younger brother Jasper is his heir.

Flatrock Moor: this is a rocky treeless area west of the city of Jerint. It might appear to be a man-made clearing in the otherwise dense forest that reaches hundreds of miles across Greenvale, but in truth, it is natural, wending along one ridge-top for nearly 20 miles, but only a few miles in width. The soil here grows thin, the earth rocky. Most farmers graze goats here. Wolves are not uncommon. Lichen-festooned rocky outcrops, moss, breakneck gullies, and small rivulets of water are all common features. There are also any number of ruins here from the old times, but all that remains of them are bare foundations, a few sunken areas that might have been cellars, and lots of dressed rock in local farmhouses and fieldstone walls.

There is a legend that there is a castle on this moor, a magical one that only appears at Moon-crossing, and can only then be entered by use of powerful magic.
